TaoSage provides cultural education and entertainment rooted in classical Chinese traditions (BaZi / Four Pillars, the Five Phases, the I Ching, the Dao De Jing). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Birth data — date, time and place of birth, entered to compute a BaZi chart. Birth time and place are treated as sensitive personal data.
Email address — used to deliver purchased reports, daily energy emails, and support replies.
Sex / gender — an optional field required by the traditional chart method.
Payment data — processed entirely by our payment provider (Payhip/PayPal). We never see or store full card numbers.
Basic technical data — IP address and browser type for rate limiting, abuse prevention and analytics.

2. How we use it

To compute your chart and generate the readings you requested.
To deliver your purchase by email and answer follow-up questions.
To send the daily energy email if you subscribe to TaoSage Pro.
To protect the service from abuse (rate limiting, spam).

3. What we do NOT do

We do not sell or rent personal data. Ever.
We do not build advertising profiles or share data with ad networks.
We do not share birth data with third parties except the strictly necessary processors under contract (payment, email delivery, hosting/CDN).

4. Retention & deletion

Free charts: computed on demand and not stored beyond what is needed to display your result.
Purchases & subscriptions: order records are kept to deliver and support your purchase and to comply with tax law; you may request deletion at any time.
Pro access: your subscription email and access token are stored until you cancel or request deletion.
To request deletion of your data, email [email protected]. We act within 30 days.

5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing. Email [email protected] and we will honor your request. If you are in the EEA/UK and unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

6. Email & unsubscribe

Transactional emails (your report, support replies) are necessary to provide the service. The daily energy email is part of TaoSage Pro — you can cancel the subscription at any time through your Payhip receipt, which stops the emails. Every energy email also states how to manage your subscription.

7. Children

TaoSage is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Data is stored with least-privilege access on Cloudflare infrastructure, and payment is handled by PCI-compliant providers.
